#AmandaKnox : Open letter To Steve Moore From His Second Cousin

Posted by jeffshana

I posted the following letter on Perugia Murder Files upon learning that the former FBI agent named Steve Moore was indeed the same person as my cousin Steve Moore.
I had only been vaguely aware of an FBI supporter of Knox’s until reading recently about Michelle Moore’s incident with Prosecutor Mignini in the courtroom in Perugia. Through tracking down common relatives on Facebook, I was able to confirm that Knox supporter Steve Moore was indeed my relative.
It’s my fear that Steve and Michelle have staked out such an extreme position (with accompanying behavior) even in light of Knox’s acquittal, that their actions will lead to disaster for themselves and/or others.
I could not communicate directly with him as his Facebook page is locked down tight. It’s my hope, that by communicating publicly, the combatants on this one issue can be reminded that their opponents remain human beings in search of justice and should be treated accordingly.
your blog and, well, let me quote you:Doug Bremner accuses the people of this site of “pedophilic grooming” Michelle cheers him on. jeffshana on 10/19/11 at 10:18 AM in
Dear Steve,
Let me introduce myself. I’m your second cousin. Your grandmother Thelma Lodwig Moore was my great aunt. You can take a day to investigate my real identity! LOL Just teasing. I’ll help you out by putting my name on this for you at the bottom. (Though my guess is that you’d have to ask Gwen or Don or Kathy or Bill or Mark or Lynn or Debbie or Donna or your parents to verify my relational status as I actually don’t expect you to recognize my name.)
First of all, I want to say that I have no intention of disparaging you or debating Amanda Knox’s guilt or innocence. As my reaction to her freedom is quite the opposite to yours…well, if we ever meet up at a family reunion (as if that would ever happen) we’d just have to agree not to discuss the topic. I also have no intention of including Michelle in this letter outside of two public incidents that concern me.
Secondly, let me just answer the question you might have right now which is most likely, “What the hell?”
Though I’m not a close relative, I have to say that I am concerned about you.
I skimmed
For this to happen, though, pompous prosecutor Giuliano Mignini, forensic perjurer Patrizia Stefanoni, and mind-reading detective Edgardo Giobbi (and others), must be prosecuted for their corruption. The judge who rubber-stamped the lies in the first trial, Massei, must also be called to the bar of justice—or back to law school. That is what will occupy some of my time for the next few years, I’m sure.
You are going to spend years working towards vengeance on people who were most likely just doing their jobs? (Classy name calling there too.)
Combining this with Michelle’s action toward Mignini in a foreign country’s court, I have to wonder what’s going on in your guys’ heads.
Not only that, but when
Is this how Christians love their enemies? It might be a stretch but it’s weird to think that my cousin’s wife was cheering someone calling me a pedophile.
It’s ok if you think Amanda is innocent, but you seem bent on a path to destroy people and are engaging in just as much mudslinging as anyone else. I honestly thought your side of the family was better than that.
(It’s really the thought of you going after innocent people that spurred me to write this.)
I understand that you’re upset that Amanda lost “four years of her life”. However, she was convicted of falsely accusing her boss of the murder. So, we’re talking only one year extra that she had to serve. My question is this: With all that you must have encountered as an FBI agent, why would you choose this one individual as your cause? There was no other social ill or issue as important? She trumps Troy Davis who was most likely innocent and EXECUTED by the state of Georgia?
It’s my hope that you would expand the use of your skills for something more than helping one middle-class white girl. (I also hope that the answer to those questions above isn’t “It doesn’t matter! I got a book deal!” )
If you’re wondering how I wound up here on PMF, let me state that nobody tracked me down or initiated with me. You see, I’ve been reading up on this case from day 1. I don’t claim to be an expert and I haven’t read the Massei report (though I am on page 60 and will read the appellate report as well.)
But as I’ve followed this case I’ve felt the need to filter out certain biases in the media. These biases would range from “Foxy Knoxy is depraved! See the photo of her with the machine gun! She has sex! She’s guilty!” to “Amanda is an innocent! She went to a birthday party when she was seven! See the photo of her holding a soccer ball!” Filtering out these biases is how I found this site. I’ve always been an advocate for a sober account of the evidence.
This site hosts one of the better discussions in that regard. I haven’t posted here in the past, but enjoy reading some of the discussion here from time to time when there’s a development in the case.
I know Peggy Ganong must be one of your mortal enemies, but I’ve corresponded with her even before I knew you (as my cousin) were involved in this. I don’t know what’s all passed between the both of you (though I do know that there was an inference about white supremacist groups that I would disagree with her on your behalf), but from my interaction with her I find her to be an incredibly decent and intelligent person. Not at all who Bruce Fisher and Doug Bremner describe.
In my mind, if they can be so wrong about Peggy, then I worry about what else they can be so wrong about and what they’ve gotten you involved in.
I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here in that I’m hoping you’re sincerely fighting for someone you truly feel is innocent.
But if this is just a way to get on TV?
Then don’t call me for that family reunion.
Your cousin,
Jeff Friend

#AmandaKnox - #Sollecito To Sue Reporters Who Claimed He Was A Drug User

#AmandaKnox: Reports #Kercher Family To Sue Knox For $12 Million

#AmandaKnox : #Berlusconi Survices Italian Vote Of No Confidence Did The Perugia OutCome Help ?

Even some opposition MPS’s voted for Mr Berlusconi last Friday.

They consider him the only leader right now that might pull Italy out of the economic soup.  His popularity polling was already down below 30% and his party’s position in the parliament very weak.

Italy and the other so-called PIIGS countries (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain) have all amassed public debt that exceeds what those economies now produce in one year. (So has the United States. Right now, its national debt is around $15 trillion and its annual GDP about 10% below that.)

Most of that Italian debt was racked up under Mr Berlusconi in the past 10 years when his pro-big-biz policies failed to make the economy grow. (In general big biz adds little value and few jobs. Why Europe and the US and Japan are in the messes they are in.)

Below, you can see the current Rome street reaction which is in effect blaming him for running the economy into the ground and for now make everyone pay. They have a point.

What connection might Mr Berlusconi’s predicament have to the outcome in Perugia? Well, for one thing, it was a small but vital victory for him against the Italian judiciary, with whom he is in the midst of a white hot war. It may well have helped him to survive that vote.

From a very good report by Alessandro Speciale.
Recently, the prime minister’s assault on the courts has taken on renewed urgency. A string of scandals allegedly involving Berlusconi began emerging in the spring of 2009, culminating with the case of Moroccan belly-dancer ‘Ruby the Heart-Stealer’ who has taken part in so-called ‘bunga bunga’ parties at Berlusconi’s villa when she was still underage…
In one wiretapped conversation, he was heard asking Valter Lavitola — a journalist and fixer who took refuge in Bulgaria after Italian police issued an arrest warrant for him — for a ‘suggestion’ on the appointment of the deputy head of the Guardia di Finanza, Italy’s financial police….
“The country is in a critical condition,” warned Emma Marcegaglia, president of Confindustria, the country’s main business association. She urged the government to act “very quickly” or for it to resign….
Despite the urgent nature of the fiscal crisis, Berlusconi has failed to secure a new central bank governor. The outgoing chief of Banca d’Italia, Mario Draghi, will take over the European Central Bank at the end of October. The natural successor for the job, Draghi’s deputy, Fabrizio Saccomanni, has been vetoed by the government’s coalition partners. A weakened Berlusconi stands impotent to overcome the vetoes.
So his remaining allies in the parliament usefully leap in.
Instead of focusing on the fiscal crisis, his allies in Parliament are fighting on behalf of their leader. They’ve been working to curb wiretapping — to thwart the embarrassing leaks to the press – and to make the statute of limitations even shorter. But his majority is now so fractured that even these projects have not progressed. Instead, the prime minister’s troubles have triggered infighting in his government. Lieutenants and would-be-successors are jostling for the spotlight in the event of his downfall.

In a move described by critics as a desperate attempt to protect his boss, Minister of Justice Francesco Nitto Palma has launched an inquiry on the magistrates investigating Berlusconi in Naples and Bari, to make sure they themselves hadn’t breached the law.
MP Rocco Girlanda petitioned the President for an investigation into the Perugia prosecutors, but he did not even get a reply. (The President is no friend of the PM.) Perugia prosecutors are running this national investigation into bribes that Berlusconi’s allies might have taken, and Perugia prosecutors represent perhaps his biggest threat.

Are we suggesting there was a US-Italian conspiracy to spring Sollecito and Knox at the end of the appeal and conveniently make the Perugia prosecutors look fools?

Nah, we really don’t believe in elaborate conspiracies here. But it is amazing what happens at higher levels with just a few winks and nods.

#amandaknox : Long Lines For Any Amanda Knox Movie? Unlikely - Too Much PR Legacy Taints Her Brand

Posted by lauowolf

The problem is, as has been pointed out, that the PR to date has packaged the product of weeping Edda and her martyred innocent child. There are side excursions into the honor student, the young lovers, and the evil Italians.

And these have been attractive images to the public, providing an easy script for followers. The family was pretty good at staying on script - we’ve all marveled at their ability to seemingly lie themselves blue in order to keep the official story straight.

I won’t say it worked, because I don’t believe the PR effected the outcome of the trial. What it did do was finance itself, Knox’s lawyers, and a lot of travel by her family, as well as turn Knox herself into a closely-watched oddity and tabloid fodder for the rest of her life.

Edda terming the media “a curse” is rich indeed, since without the families’ deliberate choice to go down this road, the whole trial have been an obscure local matter, and with a verdict either way Knox could have held her head up high .

What the PR project has left behind it is another meaningless media hype, up for grabs. Amanda Knox _________ [your product name here].

Knox’s slander conviction and three-year prison term seriously stains things, and limits the options. As does the huge and poisonous ongoing campaign to flame the growing number who think that Meredith has been ill-served. .

It is difficult for them to celebrate the Italian court for getting it right and releasing her, and still argue at the same time that they are Italian and medieval and found “poor her” guilty of slandering an innocent black man.

Especially since that part of things is pretty open and shut.

Besides, even arguing about it opens the door to the rest of what she said in that confession, and they certainly do no want people thinking about her admitting to being at the cottage. The less said of that the better.

So. Does her story have the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster?  Probably not.

For one thing, the producer types would have to know that the case is still live.  The public won’t be keeping track of that, or at best will be considering it a case of the prosecutor continuing to seek revenge.

But people looking to invest millions of dollars in movies tend to go into all the fine print.
And the looming third trial in 2011 is just the kind of complication they are likely to want to avoid.

And there’s just too much inconvenient information floating around about the story.
Finally, there really isn’t that much “there” there with Amanda Knox herself.  What would her storyline be, anyway, and who does it appeal to?

I’ve been thinking about the concept of the “blockbuster” movie, and the general marketing and all.
  • Is it the story of the young lovers, AK and RS?  Nah, AK and RS are not going to complete the story arc for them, so no drama-romance. And you can’t substitute the Seattle boyfriend, because he’d look like a fool.
  • Is it the story of Edda, getting her daughter back, a la Not Without My Daughter?  Nah, Amanda is getting a bit old for that storyline to work. The PR played out this line in Amanda’s absence, so that it is already stale, and besides, the target audience is wrong.  The Lifetime movie worked that thread, and it didn’t really do all that well.
  • Is it a story of Amanda suffering, arrested, in prison, on trial?  Nah, there really isn’t much filmic going on there.  Arrested people end up sitting in rooms, and prison is boring.  Even if they wanted to spend a lot of time on AK giving the performance of her life in court, they’d have to deal somehow with the accusations and evidence. And they really, really don’t want to do any of that.
  • Is it the story of Amanda herself?  Nah, the PR has reduced her to such a little painted doll that there isn’t anything to be done with her.  Seriously, weekly mass and the prison choir? Or hanging out with the middle-aged married Italian political type? Who wants to watch a movie of that?  They’ve set her up as a frail, pale victim, and it is difficult to create an entire movie focusing on someone being done to, rather than doing.
You can see how they wrestled with the Amanda problem in the works already made or being discussed.  The Lifetime movie revolved, emotionally, around Edda’s suffering. The other movie idea that was floated was to feature a reporter-detective (Colin Firth) who uncovers a conspiracy or something in Perugia.

In both of these, Amanda herself is only a McGuffin, an excuse for other people’s emoting, or detecting.

Unless they wanted to portray the REAL Amanda, warts and all? I do think there could be quite a compelling portrayal of the initial behavior, the lying, the family tensions, her downward arc in Perugia, and the final unbelievable acquittal.

Hitchcock could do it - think of Marnie, or Vertigo.

But I can’t see Amanda or her families cooperating with such a project.  No, the cashing in will have to be the interviews (QUICKLY) and a book project.  They’ll shop around for the best advance and slap something together fast.

But dont expect the movieplexes to be overwhelmed.

#amandaknox : Understanding the Knox - Sollecito Verdict

#amandaknox : Knox Pictured In Seattle Days After Meredith Kercher Murder Acquittal

Wearing jeans, black shoes, a brown cap, denim jacket and blue cardigan, the 24 year-old was pictured this week visiting an unnamed office building in downtown Seattle.
She appeared in a pensive mood, in contrast to other pictures that emerged of her smiling with an unidentified friend while carrying chocolate and toothpaste.
The pictures are some of the first to emerge since her acquittal for the 2007 murder in Perugia of her British flatmate, who was stabbed to death in the home they shared in the Italian city.
Miss Knox made a tearful return home on Wednesday to Seattle, where she has largely been viewed as an innocent girl trapped abroad in an archaic justice system.
Her father had suggested she had left Seattle, but it appears she was staying in a house not far from the homes of her divorced parents. Local media have reportedly agreed to give the family their privacy.

#amandaknox: Propaganda - I Would Be More Concerned On The Whereabouts Of Knox And Her Partner In Crime Little Sollecito !

#amandaknox: Knox Is Worlds Greatest Actress..

#amandaknox : Americas Angelic OJ !

The conviction of America's sweetart du jour, Amanda Knox, was overturned this month. Based on O.J.-like evidence, Knox was convicted of murdering her British roommate. The vicious and depraved Nov. 1, 2007, killing took place in the historic, university city of Perugia, Italy. Police bungling notwithstanding, the biological and circumstantial evidence stacked against Knox and her former lover, Raffaele Sollecito, was considerable.
Ann Coulter offered up a few tart tweets about Knox's exoneration:
  • Amanda Knox not guilty, Casey Anthony rolls eyes, says; 'we'll, duh…'"
  • "Amanda Knox begins search for real killer."
The once-convicted killers were declared innocent, no less, and released, due in no small part to a PR blitz mounted by Knox's family and their Seattle-based publicist. They were assisted by the country's national media, left and right. With the exception of Bill O'Reilly, former homicide prosecutor Kimberly Guilfoyle and Jeanine Pirro, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC – all worked tirelessly on behalf of the attractive, white kids. The conviction of Rudy Guede the American media let stand. Guede, the pretty pair's (alleged) partner in crime, is a black man who lacked their appeal and assets.

Nor did Megyn Kelly, Shepard Smith, Wolf Blitzer, Piers Morgan, Dr. Drew, Oprah (on and on) give the time of day to the victim's family. In defense of our homegrown popularizers and poor thinkers, however, the Kercher family was way too classy to partake in the circus created by the ugly Americans and their aides.

In Italy, as a commentator pointed out, everyone is under investigation, including the prime minister. In the U.S., too few jurists and politicians are investigated and jailed. The American media have no issue with the Patriot Act. They are not in the habit of calling for arrests pursuant to the wiretapping of Americans without a search warrant. Laughably, the same lot has accused Knox's Italian prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, of unspeakable corruption: Mignini will serve time for … ordering illegal wiretapping in the case of a serial killer (the "Monster of Florence").

Answer this, Megyn Kelly: Has Mignini exceeded the corruption quotient of King County Superior Court Judge Mike Heavey? This Washington state justice abused his office (my state, my taxes) to petition members of the Italian judiciary on behalf of Knox, in violation of Washington state's code of judicial conduct.

Besides the famously contested Kercher and Knox DNA found on the knife at Sollecito's apartment, the victim and the alleged perpetrator's blood comingled elsewhere in the house they shared.

#amandaknox : Nancy Grace 'Amanda Knox Egged On Boyfriend To Kill Meredith'

Los Angeles, Calif. - On Wednesday, HLN TV host and current contestant on ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars,' Nancy Grace, spoke out about the Amanda Knox acquittal, saying she believes that the American student did not “wield the knife” that killed Meredith Kercher, but “egged” on her boyfriend to perform the brutal act.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Grace said she was extremely “disturbed” when Knox's murder conviction was overturned Monday and saw the Italian judicial ruling as a “huge miscarriage of justice.”

She said “I believe that while Amanda Knox did not wield the knife herself, I think that she was there, with her boyfriend, and that he did the deed, and that she egged him on. That's what I think happened.”

#amandaknox : Hillary Clinton Did She Launch An Investigation Into An Anti - American Trial ?

It is very hard to get past the fact that Knox is a pathalogical liar...no one should believe a single word that comes from her mouth. How will we know in the future if Knox is lying ? her lips will move ! another Misty Cummings...

  • Warm milk in her cell for killer Amanda Knox as she begins 26-year prison sentence
  • Senator asks Hillary Clinton to investigate claim trial was ‘anti-American’
  • Knox family begin appeal over ‘flawed’ DNA evidence
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was today urged to investigate campaigners' claims that Amanda Knox may have been the victim of a miscarriage of justice.

The American is beginning a 26-year jail sentence after she convicted of murdering British student Meredith Kercher.

But U.S. senator Maria Cantwell said there were ‘serious questions about the Italian justice system’ and claimed there had been an anti-American element at the trial.

She said: 'I am in contact with the U.S. Ambassador to Italy and have been since the time of Ms. Knox's arrest. I will be conveying my concerns to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.'

Led to jail: Amanda Knox on Friday following her conviction for murder
Meanwhile, the priest who counselled Amanda Knox during her trial said the American student knew she would be convicted of murder.

Father Saulo Scarabattoli was a regular visitor and confidant to Knox in the two years she spent in prison before the court case.
Knox, 22, talked to him at length about her feelings and hopes in the weeks leading up to the verdict.

But the priest, who is the official chaplain to Capanne, the main prison in Perugia, Italy, said Knox was clearly convinced that the court would find her guilty of the British woman’s murder as the final week of her trial began.
He admitted too that he had feared the worst for Knox, who was sentenced to 26 years in jail for the murder of Meredith, 21, a Leeds University student who was in Perugia on a year abroad.
Knox’s ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, was also found guilty of the same charges, but given a year less on his sentence.

Victim: Meredith Kercher was stabbed to death in Perugia two years ago. Right, her killer Knox is pictured arriving at court to hear the verdict

Meredith, from Coulsdon, Surrey, was found semi-naked in a pool of blood in the bedroom of the house the two girls shared with two Italian women in November 2007.

Initially Knox – nicknamed Foxy Knoxy for her string of boyfriends in her short time in Italy – said she saw bar owner Patrick Lumumba, 40, a father of two, rape and kill the British undergraduate.

But she changed her story when he was cleared, claiming that she had not been in the house at the time of the crime.

On Friday, the jury decided to accept the prosecution’s case that Sollecito held Meredith down while Knox cut her throat with a six-inch kitchen knife.

They found that they had committed the killing with drug dealer Rudy Guede, 22, who was jailed for Meredith’s murder and sexual violence last October.

Father Scarabattoli said he saw Knox in an emotional meeting yesterday morning as she began day one of her sentence in the maximum security prison.

He said she was distraught and added: ‘She is utterly destroyed. Imagine how you would feel if you were condemned to 26 years imprisonment.’ But he said she was ‘putting some hope’ into her appeal against conviction.

#amandaknox:Acquittal: "A Miscarriage of Justice" Says Nancy Grace

Nancy Grace took a break from Dancing with the Stars long enough to share her opinion on the Amanda Knox acquittal. however, it might be different from what her new celebrity friends want to hear.

While the Hollywood élite have been busy congratulating Knox on her release, Nancy Grace calls overturning of the Italian murder conviction a "huge miscarriage of justice." That's because she's convinced the young coed was present when Meredith Kercher died.

"I think she was there, with her boyfriend," says the newscaster, speaking of 21-year-old Kercher's death. "...He did the deed, and she (Amanda) egged him on." However, Grace concedes that Amanda Knox probably didn't wield the knife herself.

As for the outcome of the case, Nancy Grace admits, "...people in general, including myself, want to believe good about other people and the population wants to believe that Amanda Knox is innocent." She told Access Hollywood that she'd love to believe that as well, but she can't.

Asked if she hoped to interview Amanda Knox when she returned to the states, Nancy said she does not. "My show does not pay for interviews...," she noted. Then she added, "I don't think she's going to tell the truth anyway, so what's the point?"

#amandaknox :The Kercher Family And The Knox Family Go Their Separate Ways As The Tough Questions Mount

Posted by Skeptical Bystander

This report is cross-posted from my personal website where I may add more commentary later.

1) The Kercher Family

The Kercher family had a press conference in Perugia this morning and then headed back to London. And Meredith’s father John Kercher had this reaction to yesterday’s news:
While Amanda Knox’s family wept with joy after seeing their daughter’s murder conviction overturned, the father of the victim was incensed. Speaking from the family’s home in Surrey, England, John Kercher called the judge’s decision to free Knox and co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito “ludicrous,” saying last night’s drama had made a “mockery” of the original trial. “I thought the judge might play it safe and uphold the conviction but reduce the sentence,” he said. “But this result is crazy.”
Both Andrea Vogt (The First Post) and Barbie Nadeau (The Daily Beast/Newsweek) sat down with Arline, Stephanie and Lyle for a face-to-face interview. TJMK will post excerpts and links tomorrow.
The Kerchers’ own words are far more eloquent and gracious than anything I could ever produce. Sympathy for them is building, slowly but surely. Lots of discontent online over a verdict that appears incomprehensible to many informed observers, for reasons that Maundy Gregory (post below) has clearly explained.

2) The Knox-Mellas Family

There was a brief press event at the Seattle airport. It can’t really be called a press conference, since no questions were asked in response to several invitations.

First up, David Marriott, who masterminded the PR campaign that set Knox free and has destroyed any hope of closure for the Kerchers for some time to come. He gave the order of appearances and said Knox would not take any questions, “as is her right”.

Then Ted Simon, the Philadelphia lawyer and specialist in extradition, walked up to the podium and shouted rhetorically for a few minutes, signifying nothing. He was followed by the parents, briefly, and then Knox.

It may have lasted ten minutes. I watched it via a live stream. At one point, the reporter apparently did not know he was being live-streamed. He went ON AND ON about needing “crowd cheering” for the 6:30 newscast and how “We got DICK! We may need to dub something in.”

Then “It’s your wife’s birthday, what the hell are you doing here?”

And the feed just went dead…

I don’t know if it was the same guy who interviewed two fellow passengers on the flight. Having little to say, since Knox and Co disappeared right away, leaving the media to make chit chat, he decided to talk a bit about how not everyone thinks Knox is innocent.

The camera panned to a discarded tabloid, the headline of which said something like Foxy Knoxy Now Free to Make Fortune. He opened it, to a two-page spread with a huge headline that said something like Our Meredith is Forgotten.

Oops! Cut to the chopper, quick! Yes, that’s right, a KIRO chopper followed the motorcade as it made its way down the Burien freeway. Did I not mention the police escort. I suppose they all got rock star parking too!

I got a Facebook message today from my niece, a student at the University of Washington. This is a sad day for Seattle, she wrote. In their brief statement, Curt Knox and Edda Mellas asked the media for some privacy and space. But I guess the media, having gotten used to covering the coverage of the family, wasn’t listening.

Because they followed the chopper that followed the police escort that led the family to an undisclosed location that turned out to be Curt’s house and called out to Curt for an interview. Well, he couldn’t say no. They really wanted to talk to Amanda and one had the temerity to ask for her, but he was ignored.

I wonder if the crowd cheers got dubbed into the 6:30 newscast. And I also wonder why the television media wonders why fewer and fewer people believe much of what it has to say.

Great post Skep.

You are right, negative reactions to the strange verdict John Kercher compalined of are starting to really surge. We have been emailed a number of links to Italian commentary and several translations all to post soon. The Ministry of Justice will it appears start an investigation which is almost unprecedented mid-way through appeals.

And over on Skep’s PMF forum, where we have already linked to the tantalising perceptions of the Italian poster Yummi, they are remarking that BOTH judges on the appeal are business judges and seem to have got the law seriously wrong. While under the microscope Judge Hellman is going to have to somehow explain his panel’s outcome and where exactly is the proof the ex perps could not have done it.

Responses of the American media today seemed muted at best. TJMK and presumably are now being mined intensively now for the real facts on what took place. (We are going to re-arrange this site to facilitate that.) And at the Seattle airport press conference Skep described, it was hard to suppress the thought that the K-M family intend to lock Amanda Knox in the attic for a while, and after that only let her out with duct tape around her mouth.

Anyone who has a stomach to endure this—presumably the whole of the “family” press-conference is here to watch: http://www.king5.com/video/featured-videos/Watch-the-entire-Knox-family-press-conference—131111538.html

It needs to be seen, not just heard. I didn’t check it, since I watched it live, and I can’t bring myself to go through it once again.

My way of honoring Meredith today is to avoid all media accounts of Knox’s arrival in Seattle.  I don’t want to read or hear one word from her. Today I thought of a classic Italian film I saw yesrs ago called “A Brief Vacation.”  If Knox loses the final appeal, that what her time in Seattle could amount to.

Mine also on not reading or hearing nothing i set my home page up so it went straight to here this morning.

I also planted a Tree for Meredith its called a Bleeding Hearts tree, yesterday I went and wrapped it for the fall and will do it again for winter.

Can anyone explain what will happen if the Surpreme Court finds them guilty how will they get them back and doesn’t Edda have to go back for court also?

#AmandaKnox : 'EyesFor Lies' NOW Hedging Their Bets On Knox.

'Eyes for Lies' reminds me of  a gypsy fortune teller, always feeling the ground and then giving her/his 'expert' opinion. The McCanns for instance, were telling the truth BUT Robert Murat was not. Eyes for Lies knows nothing of a paedophile statement kept back from the investigation, or the fact there is a blue sports bag missing, it disappeared the same time as Maddie, Gerry McCann was seen with this bag the afternoon Maddie vanished, McCann denies he ever owned such a bag BUT there are witnesses. The cots, seen by the cleaner May 2nd in separate rooms only to be moved May 3rd , placed together in the room the parents claim Maddie was stolen from. A cadaver dog indicated to the missing childs mothers clothing and several other items ? AND Eyes for Lies insists they are innocent.

'Eyes For Lies' wishes to now opinion on Amanda Knox  he /she has a vote poll on their blog 'asking'  (or gauging before responding) ...'was justice served ' ? the response at the moment is roughly 50/50 with a few non thinkers or 'don't knows' so like ALL good fortune tellers  Eyes For Lies gives a 50/50 response...

#AmandaKnox :Lucrative But Dubious Fame Of Interviews And Memoirs Beckons

Amanda Knox told the final hearing of her appeal against conviction yesterday: "I want to return to my life, my future." But what sort of life does the future hold for a young woman world-famous for not having committed a brutal murder?

It is easier to say what she definitely won't be doing. An Italian public relations executive last week floated the idea that, if she were exonerated, Ms Knox could have a glittering future as the image for various brands in Italy. With only around half of Italians convinced that she is innocent – more young women than young men are doubtful about her, according to a new survey conducted by an Italian university – it would be a brave company that adopted her as its public face. More to the point, there are few things one can imagine Amanda Maria Knox wanting to do less.

When she returns to the United States, she will run the gamut of the accidental celebrity, starting with the first, well-remunerated TV interview. Those who believe she has endured four years of jail for nothing will not begrudge her the fee, especially as her far-from-wealthy family has risked bankruptcy in the effort of supporting her morally. ...read more

#amandaknox : Media Reaction Commences: What Is It About Amanda Knox…

Posted by Peter Quennell

Media can be a fickle friend. Big bucks may now be dictating a U-turn. One early indicator?
We should be happy for her, the innocent victim of this terrible miscarriage of justice.
Yet there is something disquieting about Amanda Knox, something that slightly chills the blood. Those piercing blue eyes, as cold as the steel of the knife that slit Meredith Kercher’s throat, have hardly flinched during her court appearances.
Not since Lindy-the dingo-did-it-Chamberlain was cleared of murdering her baby has a woman so divided public opinion.
Amanda’s prison diaries reveal an astonishing calmness and self-belief. While most 20-year-old girls falsely accused of a vile sex murder would be in pieces, she was planning her 21st birthday party, right down to the guest list.
There is hardly a mention of the brutal murder of her friend in the bedroom next to her. It’s all about Amanda.
Even The Independent’s Peter Popham is pouring cold water on the parade. Helping to find the real killers may be a way to help stem this tide.

#amandaknox :Prosecutor who led the investigation into the murder of Meredith Kercher indicated he would seek to overturn her acquittal

Amanda Knox is flying back to her native Seattle as the prosecutor who led the investigation into the murder of Meredith Kercher indicated he would seek to overturn her acquittal and that of her former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in Italy's top appeals court.

The murdered Briton's family, who will be returning to London on Tuesday after hearing the appeal decision, expressed bewilderment and frustration at the outcome.

Lyle Kercher, her brother, told a press conference: "While we accept the decision that was handed down yesterday, respect the court, and obviously the Italian justice system, we do find now that we are looking at this again and thinking how a decision that was so certain two years ago has been so emphatically overturned now."

The Italy-US Foundation, which has championed Knox's cause, said the American was at Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome boarding a flight to London, where she would catch a connecting flight to the United States. Knox was believed to have been escorted by police through a non-public entrance to the airport...read more

#amandaknox: The CSI Effect..it would appear Knox DID benefit.

The strange case of Amanda Knox, the 23-year-old American convicted in 2009 of killing her roommate in Italy and sentenced to 26 years in prison, may get new life. Independent forensic experts issued a report on Wednesday casting doubt on the key forensic evidence used to convict Knox and her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.

In case you’ve forgotten this sensational trial, the two were accused of killing Meredith Kercher, a British exchange student, in 2007 during sex play that went out of control, according to Italian prosecutors. The case hinged on a knife found in Sollecito’s kitchen drawer, which prosecutors said had traces of the victim’s blood on the blade and DNA from Knox on the handle. Kercher’s bra clasp, found on the floor of the bedroom, was said to have DNA from Sollecito....read more

#amandaknox . Rudy Guede Confession....The Crazy Part.. Guede Could be Telling The Truth Which is Why Knox Implicated Lumumba The ONLY Black Man She Knew !

The third defendant in the case is Rudy Guede, who has almost disappeared from media coverage after he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, to which he later appealed and got his sentence shortened to 16 years.

All three have denied being responsible for Kercher's death, and Guede has maintained throughout that he was present at the apartment with Kercher on the night of her murder.

On Nov. 18, 2009, ABC news had reported Guede's trial in which he had said "I want the Kercher family to know that I did not kill and did not rape their daughter. It was not me that took her life away."

Knox's legal team, however, had rejected Guede's account stating, "Today does not affect Amanda's trial because no one believes Rudy Guede. Guede is not reliable - he is a liar," Carlo Dalla Vedova, one of Knox's lawyers, told ABC News.

Guede claimed that he had heard Knox and Kercher argue right before the murder.

According to Guede's account, on the night of the murder, while he and Kercher were together in the apartment, he had gone to get something to drink when Kercher went into her room and began railing against Knox because money was missing from her drawer. "My money, my money," she kept saying.

He added, "She said that Amanda brought boys back to the house and that she couldn't stand her anymore."

According to Guede, he and Kercher started making out, but stopped. Ten minutes later when he went to the bathroom, and while there the doorbell rang and he heard Kercher arguing with Knox.

He figured it was an argument between the roommates and he turned on his ipod until he heard a scream. Guede claimed that when he ran to Kercher's room, he saw a male figure.

He also said that an unidentified man "tried to strike me. He backed down the hallway in the dark, fell, and heard the man say 'Let's go, there is black man in the house.'"

Guede testified that when he went to the window in one of the rooms, he saw "the silhouette of Amanda Knox leaving."

He said that an injured Kercher held his hand and tried talking to him but a terrified Guede fled from the scene, ABC News report said.

The case was built largely on DNA evidence that legal experts called flimsy and suspect. Serious doubts emerged over two crucial pieces of DNA evidence - a clasp from Kercher's bra and the alleged murder weapon, a black-handled kitchen knife, according to the Telegraph.

Knox has changed her statement many times and in the first interrogation has falsely accused Patrick Lumumba, a Congolese bar owner, of being the killer.

He was arrested based on Knox's statement and later released when a Swiss businessman read about the case and came forward to testify that he was talking to Lumumba in his bar on the night of the murder.

Lumumba said that Knox nearly ruined his life and he still has nightmares about his arrest.

Knox's next version of the night was that she was with her boyfriend on the night of the murder and they spent the night smoking marijuana, watching a movie and making love.

Sollecito initially said he was not sure Knox was with him, but later claimed his memory was hazy because of the marijuana he had smoked and that Knox had been with him.

The scene of the murder is still very hazy and there is no clear picture as to what really happened that night.

Those who know Knox in Perugia describe her as a notorious sex-crazed woman, whereas her family says she is an innocent and hard-working girl.

On the night of the murder, Knox and Sollecito's mobiles were switched off from around 8:40 p.m. till 6 a.m. of the next morning, adding more suspicion.

After all these years of trial and investigation, and two of the defendants walking home free, the murder of Meredith Kercher still remains a mystery.

#amandaknox :Rudy Guede Implicated Knox BUT No One Believed Him Because he Is A Liar But Then So Is Amanda Knox

Quote

"Today does not affect Amanda's trial because no one believes Rudy Guede. Guede is not reliable – he is a liar," Carlo Dalla Vedova, one of Knox's lawyers, told ABC News. "Even the prosecutor said this today. He [Guede] has changed his stories."

Guede, 25, has at different times said the Knox, 22, of Seattle, was and was not at the house the night of the murder. At one point, he also implied that Knox's co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito was at the murder scene.

#amandaknox: Knox Flies Home But Patrick Lumumba Slander Still Stands

The Knox family conducted a relentless and well organized public relations campaign to convince the world of Amanda’s innocence and counteract both a lurid media image of “Foxy Knoxy,” and the prosecution’s portrayal of her as a sex-obsessed and manipulative “she-devil.”

The family were familiar figures on US talk shows and in Perugia during the trial, assiduously courted by television networks eager for the first interview with a woman who can now expect lucrative offers to tell her story.

“She has earning power now that she is free,” said Candace Dempsey, Seattle-based author of “Murder in Italy,” one of around a dozen books that have already been written on the case.
“She can write a book and she can certainly help her family pay back the bills. She is a beautiful girl and she has a dramatic story to tell,” she said.

The Knox family engaged the services of Gogerty Marriott, a Seattle-based public relations firm, to run what the prosecution described as a “million dollar campaign,” backed by an Internet donor drive and fund-raising events at home.

The Knox family have been quoted as saying they have had to re-mortgage their house to support their legal and other bills but their representatives in Italy were tight-lipped over what the appeal has cost the family.

“They have made many sacrifices to support their daughter,” Maria Del Grosso, one of the legal team, said simply, declining to comment in any more detail.

Prosecutors have been bitterly critical of the campaign, which they said had pre-judged the case even before the start of the hearing.

“There has been an abnormal amount of media pressure from outside which reflects a lack of understanding of Italian judicial practice,” Perugia prosecutor Giuliano Mignini said.

The court upheld a conviction against Knox for slander after she had falsely accused barman Patrick Lumumba of the murder and Mignini said that element alone meant the appeal could throw up fresh surprises.

“The conviction for slander against Patrick Lumumba still stands. At this point, the question remains as to why Amanda slandered him, what was the motive?“

For their part, Meredith Kercher’s family have made no direct criticism of Knox or Sollecito but have made clear they feel that the real victim of the tragedy has been sidelined in the media excitement.

#amandaknox : LIES And The Framing Of Patrick Lumumba

In a police statement that was subsequently leaked to the press, Knox is said to have admitted being in the house at the time of the killing. She told investigators that Lumumba was infatuated with Kercher and was in the British student's bedroom before her murder. The American then denied this in later statements.
